POSITION: Roving Sous Chef
ROLE/REQUIREMENTS: Whiting and Hammond is an award winning food-led pub company, based throughout Kent and Sussex. We’re very proud to say that our pubs throughout the group have won a multitude of accolades and awards.
Due to a number of internal changes and promotions, we are looking for a number of Roving Sous Chefs to support our existing pubs and new pub openings. Naturally, these positions involve travel to all of the pubs in the group so the successful candidate will enjoy the buzz of working with different teams.
We’re looking for experienced Sous chefs who, as well as having excellent cooking skills have a passion for good, fresh food, a good head for business and experience in helping to set and achieve GP percentages and wage targets.
For us it’s all about consistently serving fresh, high quality traditional dishes extremely well in a busy and high volume environment and so you’ll need to have the ability to multi task, plan ahead and keep a cool head. Contributing to a happy working atmosphere is vital to the successful running of the kitchens and comes high on our agenda and so your influence in creating a friendly and supportive working environment is crucial.
These are vital roles which provide excellent opportunities for you to develop a rewarding career. Many of our previous ‘rovers’ are now Head Chefs managing their own kitchens across many of our pubs throughout the group.
Salary circa £23K + tips + mileage allowance
